Craft Love: DIY Business Card Holders

Seeing as how I have my own business cards now, I'd like something to keep them all neat and tidy. So, when I found this 'How To' on The Crafty Cupboard I was over the moon! I love the fabrics used, the tutorial is simple and clear and the photography is beautiful! Can't wait to give it a go.

Craft Love: Pillowcase Dresses

There are some really gorgeous dresses for kids in the shops at the moment, but my budget just doesn't stretch. These dresses from Lark & Lola (tutorial link in her post) are lovely and it looks so easy to transform a gorgeous vintage pillowcase into a beautiful dress for your little 'un. Opt for darker colours (purples, blues and browns) and create an autumn look with a long sleeved top worn underneath the dress. Cute!

Craft Love: DIY Knickers

Seriously, you can make knickers from T-Shirts and it's easy peasey! Go over to Come and See the Seitz to learn how. I'm going to be raiding the husband's drawers to make us matching pants.

How To Make A Pterodactylus Costume

So, my daughter cam home from school the other day out-of-her-mind excited because for one day this week she can go to school dressed as a dinosaur. I like a challenge so was well up for making the costume. Then she tells me she wants to go as a Pterodactyl. I tried explaining that a Pterodactylus (the correct name for what she was referring to) was actually a Pterosaur not a dinosaur but she had already set her heart on it.

I sent the Mr out to get some materials and then set to work...

Sewing Club: Bunting

A while ago my daughter gave me a bag of clothes which she wanted to sell in order to buy some bunting. There wasn't much in the bag that a second-hand shop or eBay could take, certainly not enough for her to afford bunting!

Thursday Sewing Club: Bandana Bibs

I've never been a big fan of the traditional bib so I was really excited when I discovered Skibz. Unfortunately, for me, the price tag is just too high. So today I had a go at making my own bandana style bib.

The first thing I did was to make a paper template. The triangle should be at least 14 inches along the top, but you will need to go much bigger if you want the bib to fit bigger babies and toddlers. I used this template to cut out the backing material - I used an old fleece blanket which had a stain in one corner.

Sew a Laptop Sleeve

I stumbled across this tutorial to sew a laptop sleeve earlier and can't wait to try it out! I'll probably do one for me in a dark swirly pattern and one for the Kid for her little VTech laptop - I'm sure she'll pick an appropriate pattern!
