So what is zumba all about? Basically it’s a mixture of aerobics and every type of dance you can think of. Three quarters of an hour of fun with that miracle ingredient of feeling fit at the end of it.
Obviously classes and instructors vary but find one to suit you and you are bound to get the bug. You never tire of the routines – just when you reckon you are getting really competent, there will be a new dance to learn (that’s when it can get really amusing).
And the music? – could be anything from Elvis to the present day, from rock, through salsa, belly dancing, flamenco to hip hop!
I’ve been to many exercise classes but never stuck at them…..I’ve been doing zumba now for just over a year and will carry on as long as my instructor continues to run the classes. I’m almost 60 and am not the oldest there. The youngest are just taking GCSEs!
