Why is everyone watching you...?
I've had a stark reminder this week of one of the scarier realities of the modern world. There really is almost nothing you can hide from...
Upset someone in a shop and they can quickly Google you to find so many personal details. Facebook photos, twitter accounts, blogs and linkedin profiles. After Googling someone's name this week I found all of the above as well as a public document detailing an employment tribunal where the person lost their job as a teacher thanks to indecent photos of boys found on their computer. That was on the first page of Google.
These days you go for a job and pretty much expect your potential employer to Google you. What do your results say about you? Is the internet showing you in a good light, or does it make you out to be an unreliable drunken idiot? And how about your friends and colleagues, have they Googled you? What about that bloke you asked on a date?
So if, unlike me, you have something to hide in your past, perhaps do a little Google search of your name and think about working on your digital image.
